o-hanami

Heading up to my room after… uh… what was it, oh yeah, paying my gas bill, I ran into Michael, from Germany. He was carrying a Pineapple (?) and said he was off for hanami at some park I had never been to. I asked him where it was, and he pulled out a map and showed me, about a mile on the other side of Sendai station. I was planning on going downtown to get, uh, what was it… oh yeah, contact juice (sorry, brain not functioning to fast right now) and so I thought “eh, why not.” So I went, and so – these pictures!

First, I made a stop at Nishi-Koen park, across the Hirosegawa from the Kawa-Uchi campus. There were lots of students lounging around (‘cuz it was Saturday)

I’m not really sure why they wrapped some of the trees in the grass

Ok – skip about an hour, and I finally got to this other park (I forget the name). It was much larger, and there were… uh… thousands I bet, thousands of people sitting and walking around. The park was very large.

Anyway… I had to go off and do some things that I’ve completely forgotten about now, but at the time were no doubt incredibly important. But… it was totally great and one of the things a person must enjoy whilst in Japan for the 2-3 weeks in spring that the Sakura’s have blossoms
